For programs designed to meet legal requirements for training time, the Emtrain AI Learning Environment supports a program timer that provides a clear indication of elapsed time.
Timer Functionality
When a timed program is started, you will clearly see the active participation time required under the Due Date.
Once the program is started, the timer will begin logging active participation time. You will see this reflected both by a green bar under the program name as well as the time left on the timer will be reduced.
Paused Timer
If the program is left idle for 5 minutes, the timer will pause. When inactivity is sensed, you will clearly see several indications that the timer is in fact paused.
- The timer bar will turn orange.
- The time remaining will turn orange.
- The word paused will appear under the time remaining.
Additionally, messaging will appear at the bottom of a card to indicate the timer has paused.
To re-start the Program Timer, click one of the arrows to the left or right of the card which will take you forward or backward. This action will cause the timer to begin tracking active participation time once again.
Incomplete Timer
If the content is completed prior to the timer, users will be shown a message indicating they cannot complete the training because they have not satisfied the time requirement.
FAQs
Does the paused timer require me to log-in again? Did I time-out?
A paused timer can be started again by being "active" in the program once again. You will not need to log-in to the Learning Environment again.
Do I have to restart my training program once the timer paused?
A paused timer does not require that you start from the beginning once again. The timer is connected to your personal program and will keep track of how much time you have spent.
Why does my course say it is incomplete when the timer shows I have 0:00 time left?
Program completion requires both completion of the timer as well as the program content. If the timer shows 0:00, but the program is still incomplete, continue through the content until you reach the last page.
I do not live in a mandated training state, why does my program have a timer?
While you may not resides or work in a mandated training state, your Training Administrator may have chosen to issue you a timed program. In this case, you must complete both the program content as well as the time noted on the timer in order to be counted as complete. If you have further questions surrounding this, please speak with your Training Administrator.
